Canon intros 4,000-lumens REALiS SX7 Mark II projector
Canon on Monday introduced its new REALiS SX7 Mark II media projector for image editing professionals. The LCOS-based system has an unusually high native resolution of 1400x1050 along with a 4,000 lumens brightness rating. It also has a unique a Photo Image Mode to allow photographers, designers and publishers to reproduce color-correct images in the Adobe RGB or sRGB spaces. An Ambient Light function can compensate for both the type of lighting and its intensity....

Nikon developing rival to Canon G11?
Nikon is developing a rival to Canon's PowerShot G11, the company's UK senior product manager Kevin Egan said in a recent interview. He told Amateur Photographer that the G11 is considered a "benchmark" for high-end prosumer compacts and that a model should come out soon with similar performance. While short on what this entails, Egan did say it would likely borrow technology from Nikon's DSLRs and have the build of a high-end Coolpix point-and-shoot....

SanDisk ships 64GB SDXC card
SanDisk announced that it has begun shipping its new 64GB Ultra SDXC card. The flash media can store approximately eight hours of typical HD video, and can transfer data at up to 15MB per second. Devices compatible with the new SDXC format have only recently been introduced, and include Canon's new VIXIA camcorders and PowerShot cameras.
