Rumor says multi-touch wireless keyboard coming for Apple TV
Apple is rumored to release a Bluetooth keyboard for the Apple TV that will feature a reconfigurable multi-touch surface. Unfortunately, a quick look at the source and the rest of the rumor suggests that we probably won't be seeing this peripheral anytime soon. Still, it's fun to think about. Read More...

Possibly fix an intermittent left mouse button problem
Periodically, and for no apparent reason, the left mouse button would quit working on my USB Mighty Mouse. Unplug and plug, still inoperative. So I tried another non-Apple mouse, still inoperative. When this happens, the right mouse button works and could activate menus, but I couldn't click on things (I used a right-click and the arrow keys as a workaround to activate menu items). If I restarted the machine, the left mouse button would work for a while. Eventually, though, the problem began to occur immediately on boot. AppleCare suggested things like resetting the PMU, PRAM, etc., but to no avail. Their next solution, on this relatively new and unadulterated Mac, was to reinstall the system software -- not something I was anxious to do, nor did it make sense on this new Mac!After some digging, I found the solution. It turns out that the Bluetooth mouse and keyboard were enabled, and a nearby Bluetooth mouse had a near-dead battery - I didn't even know there was a Bluetooth...

Apple introduces MacBook Air?the world?s thinnest notebook
Apple today introduced the world?s thinnest notebook: MacBook Air. It measures an unprecedented 0.16 inches at its thinnest point while its maximum height of 0.76 inches is less than the thinnest point on competing notebooks. In addition to a stunning 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display, MacBook Air offers a full-size and backlit keyboard, a built-in iSight video camera for video conferencing, and a spacious trackpad with multi-touch gesture support, letting users pinch, rotate and swipe. The new notebook is powered by a 1.6 GHz or 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 4MB L2 cache, and it includes as standard features 2GB of memory, an 80GB 1.8-inch hard drive, and the latest 802.11n Wi-Fi technology and Bluetooth 2.1. Disable low battery warnings on Apple Bluetooth devices
For those who use Apple's wireless mouse or keyboard, you might find the appearance of a flashing Bluetooth menu bar item bothersome when the batteries in your device run low. Disabling the item from the menu bar by command-clicking and dragging is only a temporary solution, as it will continuously reappear until you have recharged or replaced your batteries. Since there is no option to prevent this warning from appearing, the following hint may be useful for those who do not use and will never need the Bluetooth menu bar item: Simply move or rename the Bluetooth.menu file from the /System » Library » CoreServices » MenuExtras folder. [robg adds: In general, I do not advocate moving or renaming system files. However, as a user of both the wireless mouse and keyboard, the flashing warning is annoying -- as is the fact that it will automatically add itself back to the menu bar even if you remove it. If you try this hint, I strongly suggest putting the menu...

10.5: Bluetooth keyboard pairing via System Preferences
The new Bluetooth System Preferences in Leopard are much more useful for showing the status of favorites and connecting them easily, particularly when re-pairing devices that are used with multiple computers. However, if you connect two keyboards at once (USB or Bluetooth), there's a problem with re-pairing the Apple Wireless Keyboard when you try to connect via the Actions (gear icon) drop-down menu: Bluetooth Prefs should generate a passkey, but doesn't always do it. It turns out that the prompt to manually enter a passkey is actually active but not visible. Make sure your keyboard is on and discoverable (blinking green light), and type an easily remembered passkey (1234) and hit Enter. Then the prompt to match the passkey will pop up. Enter this on the other keyboard and hit Enter. The keyboard will then connect.

Use unlabeled features on the small Apple keyboard
I've discovered that with Apple's small Bluetooth keyboard the fn key can give added functionality -- even though these functions are not shown on the keyboard. For example, fn-Left Arrow is Home, fn-Right Arrow is End, fn-Up Arrow is Page Up, fn-Down Arrow is Page Down, and fn-Delete is Forward Delete. [robg adds: On the queue site, a commenter points out that the small Bluetooth keyboard is essentially a laptop keyboard, and that all the keys shown on the laptop seem to work on the small keyboard, even if not mapped.]
