JooJoo gets major new UI, Flash support pre-release
Fusion Garage in an evening update revealed that it has implemented a major revamp of the JooJoo tablet's interface. Taking advantage of the recent delay, the startup has replaced the plain, minimalist interface shown so far with a more stylized look that includes customizable wallpaper and a translucent bar that combines both status and a web address field. Company head Chandra Rathakrishnan added to Engadget that the tablet now uses a simpler interface with single-touch for a virtual mouse pointer and dual-touch for scrolling, both of which should help on sites li...

Use GlimmerBlocker keywords in Google Quick Search Box
GlimmerBlocker is a fantastic proxy-based ad remover and content filter for Mac. The biggest benefit is that since it does not use InputManagers, it works perfectly with Snow Leopard. One of the best features of GimmerBlocker is keyword expansion (akin to Keywurl). Type hulu house in the address bar, and GimmerBlocker directs Safari to Hulu, executing a search for House. However, for me, quick web searches like this usually start from the Google Quick Search Box. This hint allows all GlimmerBlocker keyword expansions to be initiated from the Google Quick Search Box, by writing two rules in GlimmerBlocker. Here is the GB XML for the two rules: ...

Recreate 'Page Snapback' feature in Safari 4
I was unhappy when Safari lost the Page Snapback command from the History menu. This command would take Safari back to the very first History page for that window/tab. Well, here's a little javascript bookmarklet that does the same job. javascript:history.go(1-history.length); Create a new bookmark, and enter that into the Address field. I keep mine on the bookmark bar, and it works fine for my needs. I wish I had thought of this sooner!

Create images of full web pages in Firefox with Paparazzi
I use Paparazzi a lot to take screenshots of full web pages. I was copying the URL from the browser and pasting into Paparazzi then grabbing screenshot, but I discovered today that I could create a Javascript bookmarklet and assign it a keyword in Firefox to quickly grab the current web page. The magic works because Paparazzi injects the paparazzi: URL type into the system. As a result, anything you enter into a web browser like paparazzi:http://google.com will grab the listed URL. To take advantage of this behavior, I created a Javascript bookmarklet in Firefox then assigned it the keyword pz. Now every time I want to grab a web page in Paparazzi, I just load that page and then enter pz in the URL address bar. When I press Return, the page open in Paparazzi. Here's the Javascript; copy and paste it into a new Firefox bookmark and assign it a keyword of your choice: javascript:location....

Copy multiple items in Safari
On my iMac I use a multi-clipboard tool like Jumpcut. Copying multiple items is essential for writing on the Web, especially on hand-held devices where it's hard to switch between applications. I don't want to jailbreak my iPhone, so I'm stuck without multi-clipboard abilities for the moment. Here are some options I came up with for copying multiple blocks of text in Safari. Copy the entire article and edit it down after you paste. This is fine, but the URI is still another trip to the clipboard.Copy each bit to a Note. As well as it works, the Notes app has to launch each time you switch back to it. If you?re pulling many clippings, this can take a bit of time.Stack URIs and text in Safari's address bar. Believe it or not you can paste a lot of text into the address bar, but it can?t deal with paragraph breaks. So if all you want is a sentence or two, or URIs from several pages, copy the text, tap on the iPhone?s status bar, tap the web address, put ...
