JournalLogger 1.6.2

JournalLogger is a script to automate a running log or diary. It creates a daily (date-stamped) entry each day and adds time-stamped entries to it sequentially, not unlike Twitter's tweets, but not size-limited.

emailNewFilesList2 1.2

Use an iCal recurring event to trigger the app. It is commented so that you can tailor it to your specific situation. The script will look for files that have been added or modified in the specified period of time that meet other criteria (size, type, etc), and email them in a list form. It checks new folders and subfolders, so all that you have to specify is the primary folder. This allows it to run without the constant maintenance required by using folder actions as a solution. We use Entourage, but it should be fairly easy to change to your email client.

Speak a summary of arriving mail messages 1.0

Uses your address book to lookup contact information for emails as they arrive. Then, it speaks a summary. Example: '2 emails just arrived from Alice Smith, and 1 from Joe Thomas, and 3 from unknown senders.' This little bit of information is nice to have so you can decide whether to walk to the computer or not. To install the script: - Place the .scpt file somewhere in your documents. - In Mail.app, open the Mail->Preferences menu, and go to the Rules section. Add a new rule to apply to all incoming messages and choose 'Run AppleScript' as the action to perform.

Journler Folder/Tag Hierarchy 1.0

Assumptions: The script makes two important assumptions: (1) that a front-ranked folder contains no more than two internal nestings, (i.e., that a folder inside a front-ranked folder can itself contain another folder, but the innermost folder may contain any folders) or those farther 'in' will be missed, and (2) that all folders in your hierarchy of folders have *unique names*. It should be understood that Journler returns 'keyword' for conditions that appear as 'Comment' in its entries. A note on Smart Folder Conditions: When setting the conditions for a smart folder you can enter more than one filter condition for individual properties of an entry to go there and these settings don't have to be clustered by property as tags can be but need not be; they can be entered one at a time. The getConditions handler at the end of this script does not attempt to collect your conditions into groups by the same entry property if several filter statements are included for the folder; it merely finds them and returns them in the order in which they were entered in the editing drop-down sheet for the designated smart folder and multiple tags are listed as separate items whether they are or not. Finally: If tags are of the form 'not X', then they appear in the listing as separate 'not ' and 'X'. This is a known bug.

EditTags 1.0

This script will remove leading spaces in Tags (which I seem to get there periodically) and eliminate duplicate tags on any single entry (not within the Journal which may have many instances of a tag). To change a tag select it, then enter what it should become. To remove a tag wherever it occurs, leave the change to dialog blank (don't enter anything). The editor is case sensitive.
